Gunfire Games released the original Remnant on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One, and gameplay video of the Nintendo Switch port shows that the portable version lags behind those versions graphically.
As one of the last remnants of humanity, you must set out alone or alongside up to two other survivors to face down hordes of deadly enemies to try to carve a foothold, rebuild, and retake what was lost.” The game’s Steam page states “The world has been thrown into chaos by an ancient evil from another dimension. The game is notable for its mish-mash environment design which falls between procedurally generated maps and an open world design with elaborate monster design, which looks like a cross-contamination between some of the repulsive Dark Souls or Bloodborne creatures and Fallout 3’s radiated abominations. Players can proceed about the game in any way they want and embark either solo, or engage in jolly cooperation. Remnant: From the Ashes is a Dark Souls style third person shooter RPG action survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated and overrun by an interdimensional evil called the Root. A release date other than “coming soon” was not announced, but it will be available both physically and digitally.

Play solo or co-op with two other friends to explore the depths of the unknown to stop an evil from destroying reality itself. Remnant 2 is the sequel to the best-selling game Remnant: From the Ashes that pits survivors of humanity against new deadly creatures and god-like bosses across terrifying worlds. At the Summer Game Fest today, Gearbox and Gunfire Games have announced that Remnant 2’s release date has been set for July 25, 2023.
